it's all in the details

grace bonney's (of design*sponge) savannah wedding is featured in this month's martha stewart weddings. you must take a peak. so many small personal touches. the invites were screenprinted on vintage handkerchiefs (love this!) and some menfolk even wore the handkerchiefs to the wedding as pocketsquares. so neat.

fans were adorned with grace and aaron's silhouettes... plus their 2 cats! love that.

and i've mentioned before how i adore calligraphy. guests were directed to leave the bride and groom a note with this beautiful calligraphy.
and here's more calligraphy on the food table.

i just love all the details.

i love style me pretty. it's the one site i can head to and be guaranteed to see something pretty every single time i visit. they recently created style circle, a place where brides-t0-be can create inspiration boards very easily with their template. and pretty-stalkers like me can go and spend hours looking at the pretty. here are a few boards i found today that remind me of the start of fall.

look at those lights!

happy wedding day!

nope, not mine. kelly and martin's. a lovely couple that i've gotten to know since living in seattle. i'm excited to see the wedding and celebrate at the reception. it's an afternoon wedding with a tea party theme.ooh, maybe there will be teacups like these?? aren't they pretty. i found these over at 100 layer cake, a wedding inspiration blog. these cups were actually bridal shower gifts. mimi of mika78 put together an amazing bridal shower invitation suite with help from calligrapher bryn of paperfinger that included these cuties. you can check out more teacup details at bryn's blog. so so lovely.

Spotted this little guy one day outside our hotel balcony in Maui.

He reminded me of this.

Sweet Wedding

photos via style me pretty

This is Stephanie. Stephanie married Nathan. You can read about their wedding here, here, here, here, and here. And trust me, it's worth the read. They had chandeliers hanging from trees. A diy photobooth. And peonies. Sheer perfection. Everything about this wedding was beautiful, classy, and elegant.

And did you see her necklace? Stephanie made it. She tells us how here.

Inspiration

I'm constantly searching magazines, catalogs, and blogs for inspiration for my stationery. One of my favorite sources for unique color combinations is Snippet & Ink. The very talented Kathryn creates the most beautiful inspiration boards for brides-to-be (and those seeking eye-candy) Her blog is chalk full of the gorgeous boards as well as real-life weddings. First, a few of my favorites…

A Nantucket Island seaside wedding featuring Nantucket red, sky blue, clamshell grey, and white.

The always classic tiffany blue and chocolate. So romantic.

Shell pink and glossy black is a little bit sexy.

Fresh. And summery.

Here’s where the inspiration comes in. Jadeite and lawn was the inspiration for the Think Spring Gift Set at pixelimpress.

Gardenias and coral inspires aqua butterflies in coral envelopes.

Kitschy Key West (my absolute favorite board!) inspires Key West personalized notecards.

And although this board was not actually the true inspiration for these calling cards, I’m sure the bride at this wedding wouldn’t mind having a set of these since they’re her color.

Just as I was going to press with this post, I scooted over to Snippet & Ink. Kathryn has done it again... look at this stunning board she just put up. Seaglass and orange velvet. Beautiful. I love it. And couldn't help but notice how well it goes with my new Ocean social stationery and calling cards in the shop.

Thank you, Kathryn, for creating such beautiful works of art. Please click on inspiration board photos for more details and photo credits.
