the weekend

i took the weekend off, meaning i did nothing related to this. very hard for me epecially at this time of year. but i needed to. the trunk show left me wiped out. i needed to recoup and renew.

i read this.
and this.
and went to ikea and bought this. steve says it makes him dizzy. steve and pixel had a great weekend too. they took 2 hunting trips. and did this.
and then came home and did this.

i'm entitled

to a day off. and some rest. and it's snowing. see, look.

what better motivation to go back to bed. and i'm still in my pjs. see. do you like how my slippers fit inside steve's crocs so i can step out on the wet concrete and take a photo and not mess up my slippers.
the trunk show was last night. i could put away my display. or i could go back to bed.
or i could list into my shop my new favorite set of cards i made for the show. or i could go back to bed.
or i could sit here and admire my cute little bowls i bought from my friend at the show.
but i'm tired. i'm entitled to rest. there, i've convinced myself. back to bed it is.

trunk show day!

today's the big day. hang tags are made.
bookmarks are made.
calendars are made.
portfolio is done.
and there's stacks and stacks of boxed cards. my little fingers are worn to the bone. i still have to do my table display. do the food display. make raffle tickets. make price signs. i'm tired. i think tomorrow i'll do nothing. and saturday. and sunday.

i put out the call on wednesday. she answered. and came dashing across the street. she stayed for 2 hours... and put in countless eyelets and strung ribbon through them. she came again thursday. and friday, toting along her youngest who sat quietly at the table and colored and watched cartoons. she'll be here again monday. and tuesday. and wednesday. someone else came today. and cut paper and lined envelopes for hours. my saviors. it'll all end thursday night at 9pm when the guests leave the trunk show.

now if i could just talk steve into a foot massage (i've been standing at the paper cutter for 10 hours now) while i watch desperate housewives, my only break of the day (ok, fine, i did sit to write this while eating my dinner).

5 minutes to spare

so i thought i'd daydream at one of my favorite sites, alys beach. according to the site, it's a resort town located along the gulf of mexcio, whose design was led by internationally acclaimed town planners, Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company. i perused their vacation homes. and drooled.

i'd love to cook in one of these kitchens.
eat my meals at this banquette.followed by a snooze on this daybed infront of a fire.
and some reading on this sunporch.then a dip in the pool.
gazing at this view.
finally, a hot shower.
or should i soak in the tub? or both?

and then fall dreamily asleep in this bed.images from here

my friend tracy was kind enough to let me borrow her family's photos for styling purposes. we've known each other since the sixth grade.

these photo cards are larger, size 5x7".
simply attach your photo with double sided tape in the big empty rectangle. mmmm, did i tell my sister i borrowed her photo??
