a special package
i'm sending out a very special package today. tobi fairley was kind enough to include me in a blog post a few weeks back. i asked if she would like a complimentary set of my calling cards. she did!
i threw in a little extra something for her. shhhh.... don't tell her. they're on the way to her now.
and did you happen to see her and her home in the latest traditional home? if not, go here. i'm in love with these dining room chairs.
and this room. gorgeous.
and a snippet of her foyer. fab.

lunchtime
what do you do at lunchtime when you have to be out of the house for a broker open house and the dog smells?? this.
we're a little blurry, but you get the idea. or rather, it was steve's idea. we usually bathe her in the master bathtub (in fact, she's used it more than us), but we're into not dirtying up the house right now because every time it's dirty we have to clean it immediately for a showing. wish the cats realized this. they can scatter litter in no time flat.
back to the dog wash. you can tell pixel's thrilled. she usually doesn't mind a bath but i think the finish on the bottom of this tub freaked her out a little bit. but the goal was met. she's a clean puppy.
this great place is found here.

black and white
this was one of my favorite images from the new tradhome online magazine that released just a few days ago. (click to enlarge.)
i popped onto pottery barn. lots of black and white in their outdoor merchandise this season.
including the drapes. just might have to put these on my wish list for the new home in dallas.
via
and then i remembered this space from one of my favorite bloggers, knight moves. it's her outdoor covered patio.the outdoor space was designed by jolene ballard and amanda malson. there's just something about black and white (this time mixed with shades of pink) that get me every time, especially in an outdoor space. the green of the outdoors complements the black and white so well.
here's another image of black and white in an outdoor space from the same issue, design by jamie herzlinger. pop over here to see more black and white incorporated into the outdoor spaces of this gorgeous home.

what are you doing....
this weekend?
i hope to catch this on tv. golf. the masters. always a good watch. and getting me in the mood for our move to texas because we'll definitely play more golf there. (less rain = more golf.)
i'll read this.
and i'll read my book selection there on the sidebar. book club meets in a few weeks and i'm way behind. i haven't had too much time to read lately.
and in between all these things, i must declutter the closets and clean the house.... all for our house listing next week! keep your fingers crossed that we get an offer quickly...

my favorite
i know it's not that fun to look at empty rooms, but i wanted to show you one of the houses i saw in dallas last week. this was my favorite house of them all. it's located in a beautiful subdivision in a suburb just north of dallas. it's kinda of colonial and traditional.
beautiful dark, handscraped hardwood floors throughout the main floor. from the foyer you can see all the way through to the backyard. i like that. (of course it was overcast and rainy the day i was there so my photos are a little dark.)
gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous kitchen. white cabinets. dark island. white subway tile backsplash. we'd never eat out if i had this kitchen.breakfast nook with view of backyard. (and that archway leads back to the master bedroom.)unique granite. one i hadn't seen before.slot for a refrigerator. double wall ovens. master bath vanity. honed marble-like granite. liked it.
i loved the shower floor!
this was only half of the master closet, which links to the laundry room. genius. and a guest room bath. another gorgeous tile floor.
what do you think?? this is definitely on our "keeper" list. it's a little big for us but it just means we'll have lots of room for guests.
